I do throw them on the floor without even thinking about it. I do have a thread catcher when sitting at my domestic, its at the longarm that I find myself tossing them. However I have a spindle on the top of my machine that I do not use and have seen someone that stuck a plastic cup on the spindle to catch threads so, I am going to try that and see if it helps any.

I am messy. I don't intend for my sewing room to become a disaster area but it alway gets that way. Thread, material you name it on the floor. I'm that way when I cook also. I am trying to do better but I am 58 yrs old so I know I can only change so much at this point.

I HATE finding thread clippings everywhere. (even though in every other way, I'm a complete slob!!) Every thread I clip goes straight in the trash can at my feet. I may miss with a few, but I make the effort to get them all in the basket!

I use the thread catcher with the pin cushion on it & that gets most of the threads but if ripping seams out I lay a coffee filter on the machine & put my threads there as I cut them.

I don't put them there intentionally, but some how some of them end up there. I have 3 trash cans and a thread catcher placed in my room, but some still end up on the floor.

yep, actually I do. I once owned a drapery work room and we picked up threads and what nots at the end of the day so I kinda forget it is where I'm sewing, ha. Thankfully my floor is a laminate.

Most go into the thread catcher--grin there are always a few that manage to miss and fall on the floor. I run a lint roller over the area after I am through, takes care of most of them.

I use a small waste basket for mine...I try not to let them land on the floor.
