Welcome to the board LJ! if I'm understanding you correctly, if the problem was occurring before and after service both, you should take it back to the facility with samples of what you are getting.

Skipping stitches has always been a real problem with stretch fabrics. All of the suggestions are great ones to try. I particularly like changing the size of the needle. For no apparent reason sometimes the larger and sometimes a smaller one work better. I used to just keep testing until something worked. Good luck. Usually I found an answer so I guess the advice is to keep trying. Thread makes a difference also.
