We call 'them' the time guys. They move stuff to clean around, yeah, and don't get it back in time when you go to look for it. You leave to do something else and they sneak it back. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. LOL

I usually find those when I quit looking.

St. Anthony, St. Anthony, please come around.
Something has been lost and can not be found.

Shoot, yeah! Why just the other night I lost some block units I had just sewn (like 15min earlier) and I hadn't even gotten up from the table!

I do that often....not only quilt tops but also other non-quilting things. Most of the times, it's sitting there looking at me saying, "here I am!!!" Other times, it's tucked under something or with other things for the quilt and put away in a VERY safe place. If I ever find the VERY safe place, I'll let you know. LOL

I have several 6x12 rulers since they seem to like to go on vacation -- problem is sometimes they like to go at the same time. I have a couple of shape cutters for the same reason. I just reorganized a closet that has quilting stuff and found a bunch of blocks that I have been looking for for about 5 years. Sigh -- I think I should take a piece of paper and write down all my safe places.

I can totally relate to the strange happenings! I always know when my Dad's spirit is around. Maybe ask her to put them where you can find them....

Sometimes a prayer to St. Anthony helps.

I do this type of thing on a regular basis. I almost am able to locate my misplaced item. I just go to some other project--and the lost item shows up right where I finally recall placing it!

I have done that myself sometimes I have set something on top of it or put it were I would not forget were it was then not been able to find it. Found it when I was not looking for it.
