Salvation Army takes all kinds of clothing & scraps. They sell them to Japan? or where ever that recycles them. Our local Union Gospel Mission sells them for some of their income.

even my grand kids will love this, to tape paper lunch bags shut, use as stickers and much more. Maybe you'll have even more ideas

I copied the site and showed it to hubby to see if he might be interested in doing it for me...he said,

"why not use double-sided tape and do away with the step using glue or mod-podge.

Anything to make the project easier......

We always used to make rag rugs with ours, selvages are the perfect sort of width for them. Latch hook rugs are quick, easy and very fun to make!

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Rag-Rug this website shows many ways of making rag rugs.

If tiny I get rid. If larger I pass on to a friend.

When they're too small for me to mess with I bag them up and donate them to the Church Thrift Shop. They sell them and my donations are a tax deduction.

You can also use the scraps braided together to make a braided rug.

mjsylvstr ... omg your hubby is clever! I know 2 sided tape is quite strong but haven't used it in awhile. Seems you would have to create the fabric tape when you actually want to use it, cuz there isn't a side with protective covering, right? Also, does it come in wider widths?

Hmmmm, now I'll have to go searching for double sided tape too!

But agree that it would be so much easier to do away with glue etc.

tell hubby thanks

hi Sue.........

You are still spreading the tape on the freezer or wax paper so that will be your protective covering.....

and you can still roll it as shown in the picture on the site.....

take a look at the end of the site..... Maryjane

Maryjane...

I was wondering if the release paper from HeatNBond or other fusing products would work in place of freezer paper? For some reason I wouldn't think that wax paper would work that well, but I haven't tried it so really don't know.

Thanks for the tip.
