I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite quilting book is. The one you got the most use out of, or learned so much from.

Inquiring minds want to know!

Fons and Porter "Complete Guide to Quilting". My very first book ever purchased many years ago and still a great go to.

The truth is I really do not have a favorite -- I just love all books.

501 quilt blocks is my favorite book. :)

I am making the backing using pieced letters and I learned how to make all the letters in that book. How can you go wrong with a book that shows you how to make 501 quilt blocks!

I love that one, too, and I also love Eleanor Burn's log cabin "Quilt in a Day" books for fast projects. Any books out there that you made several projects out of?

Ruth McDowell, Piecing Workshop. I learned how to piece pretty much anything from that. It's not the quickest method on the planet, but then you're not using it for traditional geometric block quilts, you're using it for art quilts and the like (made a couple of gorgeous baby quilts, for instance).

I'm doing her Day and Night quilt right now. Actually one of my friends just taught this to our quilting group and all the ladies went home with two completed blocks at the end of the Saturday workshop.

I haven't made several quilts of any of her books, but like her simplicity.

I can only pick one? "Big Book of Scrap Quilts", Oxmoor House. I'm happy if there is one quilt in a book that I really want to make. I have about 6 from this one that are on my list.
