Feathers! No feathers! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this board has such great individuals that I know that no one has intentionally stepped on toes.

I don't know about you, but there are a whole lot of other issues in my life to get excited about. If you have nothing more to get passionate about, excited about, or angry about...I can give you plenty---just ask.
On the scale of 1 to 10....the feather issue is about a negative 50 in my life! The question was just an opinion and FERSID was just asking. Some of us need to "Get a Life" and just "Chill." Life is way too short to get your panties in a wad over feathers. (Now don't anyone get offended over that comment)

I can just visualize the NY stock exchange floor loaded up with quilters yelling out "Feathers! No feathers! (like those stock brokers yell). It would be great to be a fly on the wall laughing at all of us. Maybe it's not such a great idea for all of us to get together someday---what a riot it would be!! literally!

I vote for the red beans and ground beef but would like the recipe for the beans and ham thingy.

You did all of those fans by hand??? Holy Cow---they are beautiful...obviously you used a stencil???

Your quilts are beautiful! :)

On many old quilts, the stitching was only used to hold the sandwich together and not follow the design.

Take the example of the Baptist Fan design or crosshatching.

In this quilt, I did with hand-quilted Baptist Fans which had nothing to do with the quilt pattern...it was merely a way to hold the sandwich together...but I liked the effect of letting the quilt pattern show through and the hand quilting fade into the background.

Thank you so much for asking. The vet called and she did super. She woke up quickly, and I leave in an hour to go and get her. I'm sure she is probably barking her head off by now, and they will glad to send her home. It is surprising how loud a 10 pound poodle can be. lol

Who's having chili for dinner tonight???

I walked in late on this conversation. A final solution...to anyone who is unhappy with their feathers or no feathers, I would be happy to take that quilt off your hands....I'll even pay for shipping!! lol

Ah, feathers....to be or not to be? I think this subject has been battered to death. It was an interesting post.

Now, I have to go make my chili for supper.
Ummmmmm...beans or no beans????

Happy quilting to all....and to all a good night!! :)

P.S. I love feathers!!! :) :) :) :)

Thank you. Yes, I did use a stencil.

I must say that I had wanted to do Baptist Fans for a long time but couldn't figure out what quilt to do them on.

This was probably the most boring quilting I have ever done! LOL

If I EVER do BF again, it will be on a SMALL project only as they just get too boring after a while. :)
