Wht a wonderful story!!! I love that your desire to please your mother was your inspiration to start quilting. Keep it up....you will be amazed at the impact that a simple quilt can make in the life of someone you give it to. It expresses love and concern like nothing else can.

What a wonderful story you shared with us. My mother passed away before I got into quilting like I do. I only wish I could have given her one like you did with your mom. You are a wonderful person and so glad your mother enjoyed the quilt. You will alway miss your mom...mine has been gone for 20 years and I still shed tears once in awhile thinking of her

Oh how truly blessed your mother really was. How thoughtful you are to have done this for her. Trust me, the masterpiece in her mind, was the one you created for her. Nothing touches a parent more. God bless you! Thank you for sharing your memories with us, in your sharing you remind us that each gift we make someone else (whether it is appreciated in the beginning) is another memory of love that we have given to others.

I am greatful that I have the opportunity everyday to read such wonderful stories such as yours.

Thank you for the reminder that I feel we all need from time to time.

I want to thank you, too. You are a wonerful person to do that for your mom. It was hard to finish your story without feeling such a loss for my own sweet mama. She could make something from nothing. It was amazing. I miss her every day and she left me in body, but never in spirit. She taught me to sew and it became a business that furnished a livelihood for my family ( 7 kids+ DH and myself for 40 years. She has been gone for 27 years and still when an item is finished, I know somehow she was part of it. Mom are wonderful!

Thank you for sharing. That is a lovely story. Unfortunatly my parents didn't have a long life in marriage. And my dad passed when he was 67yr., 9 yrs this month. But I want and hope for my marriage to last a very long time. And hopefully my husband and I will be around to share every moment of it.

I'm glad you warned me about the kleenex! My dogs are licking my face, like "why are you crying"! What a wonderful, heartfelt touching story!

Thank you for sharing that with us! As sewgull said, it IS 6:00 news type stuff. Have you ever thought about sharing your story with the newspaper, or even a quilt magazine. I'm sure many other quilters would LOVE to hear this story.

Its stories like this that inspire us all,and they are the ones that we think about when sitting at our machines and our minds are wandering.

Yes, I need a box of kleenex....after reading your story I remember my own mom....sniffle a bit. When we lose our moms, we not only lose our mom, but our best friend as well. It's wonderful you have such great memories. It's been 5 years since my mom's passing and I still have good days and bad ones... love forges such a bond that it transcends time, the good news is that the memories become sweeter and the pain lessened a bit although the yearning for their prescence never ends.
    Blessings & Peace,
