First Ugly Quilt
#11
It's European style--not the future. The 7th day of the first month of 2014. Normal over here. It's probably just the setting on the camera.
As to this quilt being ugly--I don't think it's ugly at all--just calm. I think if you could do some fantastic quilting (maybe a flower) in each pink square, or feathers, or something, that it would be fantastic. Not every quilt needs to be a "wow!" quilt--just like not all of us are "wow" people--some are just rather calm to be around--this is one of those.

I agree with justflyingin. Lots of possablities for great quilting. I think it's a lovely quilt.

Nope, not ugly at all. If it isn't quite what you were expecting, then it is time to kick it up a notch with some great quilting. How about hot pink variegated quilting thread? How about putting an interesting large print backing on it and quilting the design from the backing fabric? OR How about putting a different Leah Day design in each square? The possibilities are endless!

I don't think it's ugly at all. Every quilt shouldn't have colors which are screaming out to be looked at. Some should have a softer personality. But if you don't like it, consider doing some applique over it---maybe a rose vine trailing down from a top corner and down that side, etc. Or whatever blows your skirt up.
