Ok, ok, this is going to date me, but my first sewing machine- singer in a lovely desk---which I still have btw- had a knee control....when it did have to be put down and I had to replace - that's when I was introduced to the foot pedal....can't tell you how long it took to break the habit of moving my leg looking for the knee control! But, then again, my Viking 1+ has a large heavier foot pedal that does not move..I guess cost has something to do with size/weight. How about these new TOL machines..foot pedals large or small?

My first machine had a knee control I think by screwing the foot petal to the leg of the machine I can achieve the same thing Just have not gotten around to it.
