Found a way to fill my iron without spilling more than I get in the iron. :)
So it seems like most of the time when it's time to fill my iron that there's a bigger puddle on the table or ironing board than the amount of water I got in it. Maybe this is a "cheap" iron problem or an "old" iron problem - I don't know, my iron was probably a $30 iron 20 years ago - but in case it helps others, here's what I do now.
This is one of the pour spouts that bartenders use. They should be available at most kitchen stores. I bought a bag of 10 of them a bunch of years ago and came across them while looking for a funnel to do the same job. It works way better than a funnel. The bottle was one of Grandma's so it's nice to have it where I can see it all the time too.

You know, it's funny, I've tried those squirt bottles and stuff in the past but always ended up burping water all over the place. I think it's the shake in my hands. Something about this pour spout seems to tolerate movement better for me.
