that quilt is so beautiful it is certainly worth the time and effort to take off the right border and turn it over. The left one looks much better

My favorite colors and favorite flower! Our whole row of lilacs bushes are blooming now and its wonderful.
I like the left side better, or keep the right side as it, do the left the same, add a dark purple border.
    Either way it is gorgeous

I would leave the borders like they are and sew the last two on the same way. In other words, two would have the dark to the outside and two would have the dark to the inside. Just lay it out first and see what you think. Maybe a picture for us?

IMHO the binding is KEY! A couple of gals smarter than me mentioned the binding. I don't know that I would have even thought of it. However, personally . . . when I looked at the two sites that showed patterns and completed quilts, the green binding was a turn-off for me . . . called way too much attention to the binding. However on the one that had the deep lilac binding . . . it just had a polished, well-planned more elegant look. Again IMHO, the binding should not draw attention away from the loveliness of the quilt. If it doesn't enhance . . . it most certainly shouldn't draw the eye away. Please show us your finished work.

Absolutely gorgeous quilt (in my favorite color too) but I do like the left side better. Great job.

Beautiful, beautiful quilt! I love it! Gotta say, I looked back and forth, back and forth, between the left and right sides, and liked them both, but in the end, preferred the left one. Glad you decided to unsew your woopsie. (I call it that because you didn't intend to put it on that way, not because it's "wrong".) You'll be happy you did. As for ripping out, make sure your seam ripper is sharp so you're not pulling threads. That'll give you a mess of raveled edges.

I, too would turn the offending border around. An absolutely gorgeous quilt!

I like the look on the left side too. Having said that, which one do you like? That is the way it should be!

Fellow quilting friends: You just won't believe this, but I've sewed two borders on the quilt, turning the offending one around. It's just wrong. I can't seem to get the picture to upload. I'm losing the two inch beige border if I do not put the purple against it.

Here's the deal. The picture on the front shows the white on the outside and the purple being sewn on. The instructions in the back say the opposite. I'm going looney.
