Then give it to the recipient so they can tell me how much they love it! They probably wouldn't like it at all it it was 3:00am when I finished hahahaha
    Thats too funny

I have a lap quilt made for my husband's b-day on the 25th. Hard to keep quiet. He knows that I have some secret going on. Can read me like a book!

My daughter gave me all of my two granddaughters jeans and I purchased some mens xxl shirts from thrift stores and made a quilt for her because it was so hard for her to give up the jeans. I used the front of the jeans for the front of the quilt with the zippers and on the back are all of the back pockets and labels. I did not use batting because it would make it too thick. I also use several of their favorite t-shirts. I have been beside myself with excitment because I want to give it to her NOW and not wait until Christmas. I should mention that dear daughter never gets rid of the girls clothes. I make t-shirt quilts every year for the girls but the son in law made her get rid of the jeans. I know she will be excited. But will I be able to wait until Christmas? I just don't know.

No you're not crazy! I too am anxious to give my intended quilt as soon as I finish. It's like having a new baby, you just want to share the joy!

I have the same problem. This summer I had finished a throw for our youngest sons 25th wedding anniversary which was in Oct. We took it with us to Florida and gave it to them several months early. It was nice to give it in person.

I'm not sure I can pull up the picture of this Tropical 25th wedding anniversary quilt but I guess we'll see.

I think the best presents are given on a Tuesday, afternoon not for a birthday, or Christmas or for Ground Hog Day, but just because you made it and you love them and and love to give them presents.
What if you waited patiently and the day before xmas, they got hit by a runaway bus? It happens.
Life is uncertain---give with all your heart everyday. and Don't Wait for an arbitrary day on an imaginary calendar to tell your loved ones you love them. Or to give them a quilt.
If you want to have a big gift exchange on a specific date and be sure everyone raves about your gifts, then you'll have to wait, like everyone else.
Me? I send my family gifts when they get done. And I am always making something so I can have a gift on hand for a surprise event. I also have very few of my own projects in my house, which I plan on fixing this coming year.
Why torture yourself? Give it. Enjoy life all you can. Tick tock.

I'm the same way. Sometimes they get the quilts when I'm done anyway, and then I'm struggling when birthdays or holidays come around.
