Hand quilting dilema!

Blessing to all who replied and encouraged. I feel sad just thinking there are people out there who feel that way.
Like Patrice said: if you have made it all the way through a quilt to the "somebody has it, uses it, and loves it" phase then
YOU ARE without question A SUCCESS!!!!!

I either quio\lt straight lines X's or sew inside about half inch around each piece,,,,,,,,,,,I also tie using matching embroidery floss. I can only machine quilt pieces about pillow size. I do what I can do and make myself happy and at peace. If you need a gift quilt in a hurry , make some rag quilts. If you turn it into work it spoils the fun :P :P :P

I am with you I love to hand tie with embrodery thread that matches one of teh colors in the blocks. I am unable to quilt on the machine except for small blankets. I love the look of hand tying but would love to be able to hand quilt and I think with time and patience we can get it done like we want. Tonia :D

Share54,
Don't give up. Somewhere on this forum we've discussed the fact that this hobby that has consumed so many of us does take some practice. I started getting serious about quilting about 7 years ago. I have whimpered and moaned and, just like you, felt I'd really failed and bitten off more than I can chew, but I'm also a very stubborn woman! I was not going to let that sewing machine get the best of me and I am seeing improvement with each quilt that I make. Amazing!!! Now I'm getting very serious about hand quilting and applique. Progress comes in little steps sometimes but it is forward moving (usually!). Keep going back to your projects. They'll get easier and better! Trust me! :D
P.S. Remember, unsewing is just part of the process! A necessary evil! We hate it but sometimes it just must be done!
