I use a small flashlight. I shine it at the needle hole until I can see where it is. It USUALLY works

All of these ideas seem as though they would work.

If I were at your class I would be more than happy to thread the machine, or hand needles, for you. Is this a class with a group of people or an instructor that you would not mind asking for 15 seconds of assistance?

I also go to the dollar store for cheap strong glasses. I leave them all over the house so I can find a pair when I need to see. I have the little wire threaders for hand sewing....have used it on a treadle....which did not have a threaders on it. Lol.

Susie's-Susie-Susie, I have a needle threader on my machine also. When it gets stuck I have found that if I jiggle the hand wheel a little it will pop into place. I think the needle is not quite in the uppermost position when I try to thread it so it gets stuck.

I just saw a hint the other day about using a dental floss threader to thread your needle. It's cheap and would work just like the needle threaders you could buy.

I purchased a magnifying gadget that attaches to my vintage machine on clearance at WalMart last year. Also, I find it helpful to hold a piece of white paper behind the needle, it clearly shows the eye and is very easy to thread.

I was told in a class once to wet the sewing machine needle, not the thread. So I lick my thumb and pointer finger, slide them over the needle, and then thread it. I do have an automatic threader on my machine, but sometimes it gets bent and won't work. Then I lick my fingers.

I use a piece of white paper to see to thread needle right now. What I will do in future is up in the air. I keep it under mouse pad which is right by machine, as area is all together, and small.
