The ten minute block might work nice in those fabrics.

Maybe buy the quilt from Pottery Barn and save yourself the aggravation?

I would do some 10" squares with a midloft or highloft batting. Most people who do not quilt, like the puffy style of quilts. Your colors are just beautiful and will work up wonderful no matter what you choose. Keep it simple and enjoy the process.

With someone so picky I would not enjoy making her a quilt and rather than spending hours working on it and holding my breath how she might like it, (probably not). I would buy her a gift certificate to fit in a nice card and be done with it. LOL

She has given you a color suggestion and you have chosen the fabrics for their quilt very well. It will be beautiful. I think since she knows the quilt work that you do she is not commenting on the pattern you choose because she does not want to stifle you in your design choices. That's why she is leaving it up to you. I would choose a pattern that appeals to me made in the colors she loves and I think they will be very pleased with the outcome of the quilt. What a generous gift you are giving them!!

PS...I don't see her as picky or demanding in the least. You asked for suggestions and she gave them to you, you should be pleased that she's left the designing process up to you so you can do what you do best. Make her a beautiful quilt and feel good about what you've made. I think it will all turn out great in the end.

As others have said, Keep it simple. The fabrics you have chosen are beautiful. I know that whatever you do it will be great. When you know each other better maybe then she will let you know in more detail what she likes. BrendaK Please show us when you are finished.

I would do a Yellow Brick Road or Take Five. They are both quick and have a very nice finished look.

I agree with all of the above. The simpler, the better and let the quilting itself shine.
