I will check at the Quilt Store that I buy my Janome machine from and see what kind of walking foot you need they
are real good at helping you find parts for older machines.
If they have one I will let you know.

I love my quarter inch foot. It's the darning foot I'm in need of. I hope there is only one.

The guy I saw on ebay welcomes questions...so I might send him a message or two. 15.00 seems to good to be true. I love all my snap on feet.

My Janome Harmony is a low shank type.

that is the one, you can aslo chen with brubakers sewing center on line..but $15 is the right price..Have fun!

I have no idea about Janome Emb machines, but all thier sewing machines are low shank, including the 6500.

The 6600 is the only machine to my knowledge,that is a high shank machine.
i have not read any info on the newest janome out..i think it is a 7700? or goes by another name.

that is why i was sold the wrong foot..the store owner thought it was a short shank. she was surprised when i returned it because it didn't fit.

Some models of Janome require an "ankle" to adjust to fit the walking foot. I am unfamiliar with the model you have, but have worked with several models that need the ankle to adapt for the walking foot.

Also you may have outgrown the capability of your machine, which may be why the dealer suggested upgrading. With each upgrade, the tasks become easier.

I'm sure I'm outgrowing parts of it....but it's such a wonderful machine, I doubt very much I'll ever part with it.....maybe someday upgrade to a newer Janome so the feet will be interchangeable.

I guess it's the ankle piece that holds the thing that the feet snap into...I hope that description sounds right. I have to unscrew and take off the entire assembly until just the post is left, then I have to swing the lever that goes up and down on the walking foot above this little phlange thing that comes off the side, rotate it a bit to wrap these little finger things onto the post, then put the screw back in.

I really like my walking foot...it just seems to stitch too close together even if I lengthen my stitch. Oh well, for my purposes, it works very well. With the throat of the machine so small, it's difficult to quilt anything over wallhanging size on it. I quilted my step-son's queen on it and it was a pain in the patootie I would like not to repeat.

You described it perfectly! I hope everything works out for you. Janome just came out with the Horizon with 11 inches between needle and control panel, so you can really heft bigger items..it's a bit pricey for most, but has some great features. Enjoy

I don't know about the foot you need but I understand your anger when the Janome dealer tried to sell you a machine. When I wanted to buy my first one the woman kept trying to sell me a bigger one. I just wanted the Platanum so I could use it for classes. I finally got mad and and walked out. I went back a few weeks later and got another salesperson and she wasn't pushy. I finally got the machine I wanted. But now years later I hate to go in there incase that other woman is there. I did go in and check out the Harizon and of course the pushy one waited on me. But I didn't let her get the best of me. I got my info and got out lol unfortunatlely I couldn't afford or need the new machine but I did find one more in my price range that I am thinking about.

i have a sears kenmore machine (janome made for sears) the attachments should fit your janome. you can go online to sears.com and look at the accessories for a darning foot. i bought a box of 4 accessories; open toe walking foot, open toe darning foot, open toe crafting foot and a stitch in the ditch foot. all for 29.99 during a sewing class i took the lady next to me borrowed my 1/4" foot for her janome. you should check it out. alot cheaper than the janome brand. lil
