I think it's just fine the way it is. I would not embroider any ants on your border either.

I also think it need a small 1" sashing to seperated the block and make them standout. Try auditioning different colors sashing like maybe green leaves or green polkadot . Black may be too dark. Make the sashing fairly light so it frames the blocks but does not out shine them. m

It's going to be a great quilt! Take it off the bed. Or put a white sheet behind it. I think the bright bedcover is drowning how super this one is.

Your blocks look great. And I agree, a narrow sashing of black would really set them off. I had to smile when you mentioned the ants. I personally kind of liked the idea, maybe no embroidered ones, but it would be fun to do a couple in the quilting, just for a subtle touch of whimsy?

I would use black sashing with the green border. I like the quilt just needs a touch here and there, but I agree no ants.

I think it looks great , if you wanted to add a little more o it , i would put a small (maybe 1 inch finished) sashing in red or black and make the border in opposite of red or black sashing

I really like your offset rows do you really want to do half blocks on those short rows or leave that for creative quilting spaces? Negative spaces can add a lot sometimes. I really like your blocks and going outside the box think it would make such a beautiful table cloth and kitchen curtains doing a whole kitchen scheme around this quilt block and fabric collection.

I agree with omacookie, some black sashing would really make a big difference.

It's lovely. If you find it boring, have you considered narrow sashing strips? Try it out on graph paper with colored pencils before you start cutting. Maybe medium to light green??

A narrow sashing in red would enhance the quilt and not distract from the blocks - nothing wide, just a narrow one.
