Did anyone see House Hunters yesterday? There was a lady looking for a bigger house, mainly to have more room for sewing her quilts! The three she looked at were all amazing but the one she picked was HUGE! I was envious! :hunf: It showed several of her quilts and her style was really busy with lots of large and small florals mixed with black and white etc.
I did keep searching for a shot of her stash...but they never did show it! She had huge closets for stacking stash!
It was fun to dream..... :)

I can't believe I missed that one. I did watch two of their shows last night.

The Quilt Show did a segment a few weeks ago on a gal in California who bought the house next door to her own home and turned into a quilting house. You should have seen her stash! She has one bedroom for her LA and she and her quilting buddies sew all the time in the living room, one bedroom holds her stash. Amazing! It was awesome. Unfortunately, most of us don't have enough money to own a separate home just to do quilting.

Aw come on!
If we all bought an extra house for quilting think how much we could help the economy!
Maybe we can get some stimulus money!!!!

When my parents bought land, they built a 2000 square foot rancher, then behind their house, they built my mom a 600 sq. ft. studio (she is an artist) and my dad built a 2400 sq. ft. "garage" for all his toys. I tell my husband that when my parents pass away, I want to buy their house, just so that I can have the studio for myself. However, I think if I combined all the space I take up now in our home and how much I keep accumulating, I would outgrow that studio in a matter of a few years.

We have a 10x40 foot storage room in our daylight basement, but before I could snag it my DH filled it up with boxes of his junk, so I ended up with our third bedroom, probably 10 x 12. But at least it's my own.

I agree 600 sq ft isn't enough room!
I use that much now just for fabric.
then the machines,thread,cutting table,notions
long arm etc etc
I DO need a house!
