A good friend of mine, mother of five with very limited funds, searches thrift shops for cotton fabrics/clothes and makes most of her quilts from repurposed fabrics. She especially stocks up on the "$1 a bag" days. Her work is absolutely beautiful. Her trademark is to put a small bluebird into every quilt she makes--sometimes appliqued, sometimes pieced, often quilted. I love her so much and am amazed at her beautiful work.
