I need to like solids. I have a whole drawer full. I bought them when I first started. The quilt in my avatar is the only quilt in which I used them.

I love solids it give a quilter's imagination the freedom to create, like paint on a blank canvas.

    Check out this freebie: http://blog.missouriquiltco.com/awes...quilt-pattern/

I've bought the charms and jelly rolls for four different palettes to make four different wall hangings/throws. This is a very contemporary pattern that lends itself to men and urbanites alike.

I designed a quilt top using just solids. I love them. I feel there is just color and shape, no competition from print.
What I don't like about solids: the small selection. I don't rely on online pictures...they can be vastly different in person.
So...I dye fabric to get what I'm looking for.
