This is my current scrap user upper project..

cut them to 2in sqs then into blocks.. I haven't decided what to make from them yet.. I know when i see it..

If your just tossing them away, I would gladly take any scraps from less than a fq to 1x1 off your hands.. :-P

and my WIP- Crumb quilt..

My extra things I can't seem to part with or throw away I give to the church fro the ladys that do the bazaar. They are always glad to get ufo and extra scraps of fabric. Maybe a guild can point you in the direction of a group makeing small projects for shut insor something like that.

Have a good time going thru your stash.

ten pages...well, can't read all that now...but I love applique and I don't throw ANY fabric away.
If I seriously think I will never get around to using it, I box it and GIVE IT AWAY.
I just can't bear to think of it going in the garbage!!!
sniff...sniff...i won't be reading this thread either.
I just realized how depressing it might be, lol!

Well, don't tell, but this year I gave myself permission to throw away a partially finished quilt that I absolutely hated. It's true, it went in the trash. No attempt to recycle, give away, etc.

I've sent boxes of fabrics, scraps, unwanted items to a couple of people from QB. Last time was a jam packed full paper carton! Hopefully they can use them, it's worth the postage to get it out of my way.

There is also a shop in a town about 40 minutes away that accepts donations of any and all craft items, from scrapbooking to clock making. They sell the items to raise money for local senior citizens.

As my sewing studio grew, my self made rules changed. First I kept every little tiny piece of fabric, then it had to be 5" to use in a mini quilt, then it had to be big enough to make a headband, now it has to be big enough to make a draw-string bag.
The studio just got too big and no room.
So unfortunately my 4 trash cans in the studio are full each day of fabric scraps, strands of thread, and empty spools.
:-(

I have scraps everywhere....strips in shoe boxes, squares in plastic bags, just plain scraps in many containers. When I place them aside in a ziploc, box, or other container, I sometimes have an idea what "could" be done with them, but I never do get to it. I'm not good at "random" piecing. I definitely do NOT throw them away. I suppose I should GIVE them away....but....

I am NEVER,...repeat, NEVER going to throw away!
I paid good money, or somebody did and I would 'give', but not throw away...nope, nope, nope!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Those of us that have fabrics that just sit, should swap them, measure for measure, lol ;-)
