All hand quilted should bring more income, however, as you know machine quilting part of it would complete it more quickly.
Isn't it fun being the quilting police!!!! We can make our own decisions.

If you are going to do hand quilting in the white part (the majority) I would hand quilt it all. When you are describing it for sale, Awesome Hand Quilted Applique Quilt sounds better than Applique quilt part hand quilted/ part machine quilted. You are more likely to get more money for a all hand quilted quilt too. However if you want it done fast, completely machine quilt it and go from there.

I am a new quilter and my husband and I went to a quilt show in Hot Springs, Arkansas just to see what others do. What I found out is "ANYTHING GOES". Just go with your ideas, have fun and you will have a keepsake that no one else will ever have!

hard to tell from the pic....is this a bed size?-is there just the applique in the center or is it throughout?-is there piecing along with the applique?-is the applique machine or hand done? All those might be factors in the "finishing".
My first thought after reading your post was "if you are going to handquilt the "rest of it", why not just include the applique portion into it too"
