That's so great for you. I bought my 2170 in August, 2010. I had a Pfaff 3.0 mechanical and loved the IDT feature. My budget to get an updated machine was like you, so when I found a 2170, I bought it. It truely is one of the best machines I have ever sewn on! You will love this machine. I am also still learning how to use it, but am taking the classes too. I am so happy for you! My first sewing machine was a Viking Rose which I still have. I liked it well enough but had trouble quilting with it, so I bought the Pfaff. I too have converted to being a loyal Pfaff fan.

I have a Pfaff-one of the older ones, a 1527. I am currently saving up for an upgrade. I love the machine. It is awesome! Enjoy it. Let me know how it runs.

I have 2 Pfaffs. A 2054 for piecing and a 2170 for Embroidery. I LOVE them both!! I got both used and they have been great, I have found only one catch - my 2170 likes only good embroidery thread.

Mine won't talk to the computer...cost $6999 plus $3300 in software...$600 for extra hoops and tons of extra software sitting idly by...
For all the other ordinary sewing it is great.

What a shame!! That's a lot of money for "ordinary sewing". I hope I don't have this problem!! So sorry this happened to you.

I also have a 2140/2170. I love my Pfaff. I have often wondered why no one seems to talk about their Pfaff machines. I was not able to take the free classes but have a good friend who also has one and helps me a lot. Congrats!
