My border is a little bit longer than the side I'm attaching it to. I read on here somewhere that you can sort of fix that with a walking foot. Something about the longer or shorter side being on the bottom against the walking foot or something....anyone know what I'm talking about?

Always put the longer side on the bottom (or the bias if there is one) that way the walking foot will help even things out. This is one of the greatest tips that I've ever come across. Hope it helps you.

baggy bottoms...the feed dogs help to ease the fabric in.

If you ease extra border fabric in it'll be wavy.

this only applies for about 1/8 of an inch or tiny bit more. not any longer. just measure your quilt length down the center and your borders you add should be the same.
pin center, and ends and sew.

When stretch fabric first became available, we were told to sew with a 'relaxed bottom'. The top can be stretched slightly to fit the under strip, but not too much.
