I have had many irons in the last 10 years....and they have been ok----but eventually it would fall off the ironing board and crash to the floor---not good----so I finally go an Oliso 1600---I LOVE LOVE LOVE it----since it does not have to stand on its end like regular irons....no more tipping off the board. I have had this one for almost 2 years and (knock on wood) have not had any problems.

Hmmm.. An Oliso iron or a cordless one. Right now I have a Target 25.00 iron and it works great !

I have an Oliso and wouldn't part with it for anything. It is the best iron I've ever owned. I got it on a "Gold Box" deal on Amazon and while it was still expensive it has proven, over the last two years, to be everything I could have hoped for.

I've been using an old travel iron. Probably from the 60's or 70's. It's lightweight and hot, hot, hot. I make sure my fabric is ready to be ironed before putting the iron to the fabric. With my regular irons I don't hesitate to leave the iron on the fabric to adjust a seam or whatever but I'm afraid this one would burn the fabric quickly. I guess I should test it on a scrap. Even though the face of the iron isn't large, it irons so quickly it doesn't matter to me.

I have a Rowenta Proffesional that is 20 years old. Never had a days trouble and love it.
I also have a B&D for quilt camp ..... Love it too��

I have had the Shark, a Panasonic, a Black and Decker, and a Rowenta, all of which I eventually got rid of. I got the Oliso last year and love everything about it - it heats fast, has a 20 minute shut off, and hasn't spit at me once. Took me a while to get used to not setting it on end, but wouldn't trade it for anything. We are on well water, so I do use cheap bottled water in it.

I love my German Rowenta, but currently I am using the Panasonic Cordless and loving it. Being left handed, I love not having to deal with a cord (it has to do with how my sewing board is set up). I never put water in my irons. I prefer to spray.

I love my little travel Rowenta for class.

How did you get the warranty?????? I have an Oliso - same reason - carpal Tunnel and arthritis -- love it --- the iron, that is!

I had an Oliso iron. The foot worked perfectly, but it leaked like a sieve. I contacted the company and they sent me a new one. It worked fine for a few months and then it started leaking like a sieve. I am now using a $29 Sunbeam steam iron that I bought at Costco. I can use the Oliso as long as I use it as a dry iron. It stays in the cabinet most of the time.

See my new post http://www.quiltingboard.com/general...n-t261490.html Oliso is standing behind their product and called me at home twice last night within 1 hr of my email about my iron not working. I sent the defective iron off today - sent them the tracking number - they said they would get me the tracking number and get the new iron to me asap. I am very happy with their customer service. I love the iron too - it gets very hot, it does shut down but it heats back up very quickly - and the feet down feature is actually very nice when you get used to it - so I am a big fan of Oliso.

I just saw the post above about the Oliso having a leaking problem - it says specifically in the manual Do Not use Distilled Water it will cause it to sputter and leak - kind of strange that it would do that but I don't use distilled for that reason. I don't know if that's why yours did that but just wanted to point that out.
