I just bought the same machine (Janome 6600P) for $1299.00. Now that the new Horizon is out there are great prices on the 6600. I love mine and everything you said about it (plus these great pictures) are true.

Hi, I have a Janome 6600 and love the built in walking foot, but

I do not quilt anything larger than a lap quilt or large crib quilt.

    It's a great machine! SZQ

Has anyone noticed how fast the bobbin reloads? It's like warp speed on my machine. Does anyone know if the speed can be adjusted? I have a 6600

I don't think the speed can be ajusted. Why do you want to adjust the
speed? As long as it winds evenly it should not be any problem. Maybe
you're just used to those slow cranking bobbins. You'll get used to it. ;-)
Besides, the faster it winds, the faster you can get back to sewing.

I have the 6500 and I have had no problems with it at all. Of course, I've never used a 6600, but just wanted you to know that I love my 6500. Good luck deciding what to purchase!

I have just traded my 6600 in on the new Horizon machine. Oh - Christmas is here!!! :) I had gone in with an open mind and was not willing to give up my 6600 unless the Horizon definitely out sewed it. I was taken with all the stitches however when it came to the free motion quilting that was when I told my wonderful store owner, Jane, that it was a wrap and I was now buying the Horizon. It is amazing! No ladders on the back, it just went this way and that so easily, and I was sold immeadiately. A quick trip home to get the 6600 organised and back to the shop and now my beautiful Horizon is sitting proudly in my sewing room. I am exhausted but HAPPY! This machine will do me for a long time to come. I got a great trade in and the 6600 really cost me nothing to use for the last 18 months. The 6600 is one amazing machine however the Horizon has stolen my heart.
