The two Wal-marts closest to me still do not have fabric. Our Hancocks is closing so I am confined to JoAnn's right now. Sad.....

We just moved to the area this summer and the WM here had a some prepackaged 2 yard bundles that I got for $1.50 each (clearance) Over the last 6 months more of this prepackaged fabric has come in and it is about $5.50 a yard. Sold in 2 yard packages for $10.97.

Sorry. So check the top of the bolt before you buy it.
I always check the bolt. Our walmart has a tendency to cover fiber content up, so I usally have to pull back a price sticker.

For those who have asked, I live in Lebanon. I'm going to keep checking in and when it comes in, I will post to let you all know if it is worth the price or more junk.

I talked to a salesperson in the fabric area in my local WM
(Greer, SC) and she said the Execs are complaining because
this dept. does not bring in enough money.

She stated she did not think they would keep fabric much longer.

Default Walmart

Our Macomb, IL Walmart still carries fabric. 98% of it isn't worth carrying home. Most of it you could read the newspaper through.

First I've heard of them ordering the fabric. The staff always says "we get what they send us." Some of the staff don't even know how to unroll a bolt of fabric correctly for cutting.

Our Walmart sold fabric for years and when I took up quilting they discontinued the department. Just my luck! You'd think with no other fabric stores in town they'd start selling it again. Maybe I need to speak with a manager the next time I'm in there doing my shopping. Couldn't hurt.

Sounds good, but I would really question the quality of the fabric @ $1.50-$3.00/yd.
