I am new to starch use. I did not like the flakes from Niagara, switched to Best Press, but pricey. What is Linit?( I live near an HEB) And how do I use it? Dilute and fill a spray bottle? Will it flake?

Yes, you dilute it. There is a chart on the bottle for guidance, but it's ultimately your choice. You can either use it in a spray bottle, or soak items and allow to drip-dry (until almost dry).
As long as you allow the starch solution time to thoroughly soak into the fabric, you should not have any flaking. When spraying, I spray one side of the fabric, allow time for it to soak in (you don't want droplets sitting on top) then iron from the reverse side. I never have flaking or buildup of starch residue on my iron.

I soak my fabric yardage in liquid starch diluted 50/50. I hang it in the shower stall of a bathroom we don't use. I then iron it. It is like cardstock. So far all I have used is StaFlo and have plenty to last a long time. I can reuse the starch I use for soaking many times. No flakes if starch is completely dry. Terial Magic works to stiffen fabric when used as a spray. Some dilute it 50/50. It takes less of Terial then spray starch to get the fabric stiff. It's hard for me cut unstarched fabric.

It has showed up here in the Pacific northwest USA at the cash and carry stores this week, pretty sure they have bought up remaining stock as that is the basis of their business. 4.99 a jug.
