    That is a great story. Projects like this are wonderful for helping inmates feel empathy for others at a time when they're really disconnected from society. I wish there had been pictures - it sounds like they're making some amazing quilts!

    This needs to happen in every state and every prison or correctional institutes. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the story and pictures very much.

    If you do a simple web search on "prisoners who quilt" you will see that there are a lot of prisons who have similar quilting programs. Hopefully, this will catch on & continue throughout the states & beyond.

    I don't remember her name but, some years ago there was a lady here on thid board that use to go to a prison to teach sewing. Sorry that is about all I can remember.

    I don't remember her name either, but I think she was in New Mexico

    Rehab happens in so many different ways. Like seeing our men folk who need skills and a way to be creative find one way through fabric an a sewing machine. We know it is a forever skill that can lead to a better life out side the walls of a correctional facility. .
