If you are happy and comfortable with your machine I would certainly go and see what it would cost to fix it....you might just have a small problem that you don't realize and possibly wouldn't cost you much money. That said, there are many options out there for you. I would just reveiw some of the machine members have stated for you and find what you are most comfortable with and will enjoy using.

Good range of Brothers out there.Do consider if you need all singing and dancing or basic stitches and feed dogs drop.
Enjoy the search .

Same here. I love my Kenmore, but mine is probably about 8 years old now, but hasn't given me an ounce of trouble. My understanding is that Kenmore is made by Janome. Good luck choosing.

Singer has a great quilting sewing machine. I believe it is the Q7469. Take a look while out shopping.

I use a Sears computerized machine from 1990 to do my piecing, and love it, the only thing I don't like is that the feed dogs don't go down, there is a plate so FMQ is harder on that machine. I quilt with my Singer embroydery quilting machine $600 bought 2 years ago. Love the quilting but has too many bells and whistles.
