Makes me kinda glad that my sisters don't even sew...LOL, don't think I'll get them any quilting lessons. Maybe I'll just teach them myself, my way. Then I can be quilt police!!!

I agree, don't use the stash because you will get blood on your fabric. :) Use the rulers, the bloodstains will wash right off. Seriously though, I've found the best thing to do is say "thank you for your input" and do whatever I was going to do in the first place.

You and I have the same "no no" list.
I'd add different threads on top and in the bobbin.
Plus, I neither wash nor iron fabric before using.

Your sister will recover eventually, we all did.

This is quite funny. Have patience...she will come around and realize that us women are quite creative and will think up all kinds of ways to accomplish our goals.

Women who follow the rules seldom make history! Keep on doing what you want to do and enjoy it. She will see that she can learn from you in time.

LOL! ...and remind her of how un-needed they are when she starts borrowing them!

OMG! You mean I am supposed to buy all my fabric from the same place? I would never get a quilt made if I did that! It took me weeks to find all the "just right" fabrics for a bargello and many fabric stores (and that included LQS, Joanne's and Walmart). I am sure she will pick up on your quick tips and hints pretty fast. Just wait until she runs into a problem....see who she runs to for help!

I remember my first grader telling me about how his teacher did this and his teacher did that, and I did not do it right either. by sixth grade the teacher did not know what she was talking about and Mom was great. (Mom also would drive him to the mall.) :-D
