please keep her at your house as i never follow the rules. lol.
i also dont pin much as i have to much fun sewing and quilting. you mean there are rules to follow. i dont know of any rules to follow so i cant break them. lol. all of the 146 quilts that my daughter and i have given away to date no one has not loved them. so we much be doing something right. as friend once told me. she is a super quilting and have been doing it a very long time. the horse rule. hold you quilt up on the porch and then have the quilter ride past it and see if the quilter can find the mistakes. if she or he finds something wrong then get a faster horse. i love to quilt and most of the time only i can see the mistakes or something different that i would do next time. just love your sister we were all there once. lol blessings to all

I agree with this! Give her some time. Sounds like a new parent with their firstborn child. Everything has to be perfect. LOL

I don't have a sister but I'm sure in time she will come around. If not you could tell her that the quilting police are for real.

My bobbin thread is not always the same color as the top thread.
I incorrectly mix my fabrics in the same quilt. ( Joanns, WalMart and LQS) Oh! The horror!!
I sometimes use a sheet for backing.
I sometimes use dishes, lids or whatever instead of proper templates.
I don't really NEED all the rulers I have.
I don't always follow the pattern.
Bless her well meaning heart, I love her dearly but if she says just ONE MORE thing about my methods or lack thereof, I will beat her to death with my stash.
I sent her the link to this board, she will learn much more here from all of you talented folks.
hilarious! she will also learn that everyone has their own way of doing something. Just laugh it off.

My ex-husband was the quilting police. He always pointed out any slight mistake I made. Guess what? He didn't get any of my quilts in the divorce. :) I hope your sis will ease up on you and just let you enjoy yourself doing things your way. Maybe then you can have fun quilting together and sharing ideas.

Now I know why I don't have a sister -- I would have too much fun driving her crazy.

I have take classes from some pretty famous teachers, and they have been aghast at the way I work. One in particular was furious because I would not work in her color palette. She said her pattern could only look good in one color combination and she would not tolerate anyone using any other combination with her pattern. (I went to the shop owner, asked for my money back and left.)
