But in looking at the pictures it looks like the green is the better border fabric. Any helpful comments appreciated.
I personally prefer the purple.

I made a border quilt from our Brown Bag Project a couple of years ago in Guild. A friend helped me, as I was just new to Guild. It is my favorite quilt now.
I just had a center motif of Fall Leaves--a large piece. I just used borders of the different colors in the center piece, and it turned out beautiful.
Since I was pressed for time, I tied it. Have had lots of compliments on it.
Using Borders can get more involved. I am making another border quilt now. One border is from a pattern I got from The Internet and another is one I made up. They both trned out well. I intersperced them with just block borders and straight pieces again from the center block.
It is an enjoyable way to make a quilt, and you can get as creative as you like, or keep it simple.
Good Luck!

I like the purple. It has a bit more "umph" to it.

Purple is the one I would choose. A dark purple 1 1/2" stop border and then a lighter purple for the final border.

I like the purple border. If you have enough fabric, I would use BOTH the light and dark purple. I think the dark inner border, then the light for the outer border.

It's hard to get a clear picture of your dark purple, but I have lots of dark purples in my stash. Can you send me a picture of the purple to [email protected]
