I have the Sapphire 870Q but rarely use the threader. Hope you can find a work around for a more reasonable cost.

Turn the machine Off and stick your little finger behind the needle or put your fingernail behind the needle. You can see the needle hole and thread it. I do this all the time, I'm 90 and my vision isn't that good anymore. Just have to be careful.

Run from that repairman. Sounds like overkill to fix a needle threader.

Too bad we can't tag members. I hope quiltedsunshine sees this because she works in a repair shop, I think.

I have had my Sapphire for 10 years and no problem. Is this an authorized dealer?
You can also go to Viking web site and chat with them about it. Good luck!!

Thank you for the suggestions. I will pickup my Sapphire and thread the needle myself!

I think my Sapphire cost about six hundred dollars. At a Viking store they will take in a trade to save even more money. For six hundred dollars I would only get a new machine. Or we can always thread the needle ourselves.

For that much money, I can thread my own needle for a very long time. Perhaps a 2nd opinion is in order?

That makes no since, Vikings needle threaders aren't built into the heads like a lot of them. Is this a certified Viking dealer. I'd be checking around.
