Second one is the best I think.

In the third one the greenish squares will be lost. IMHO the black is the most dramatic. You know the couple, do you think they would want the black?

Three defiantly! But I tend to like a softer look with less contrast

I prefer #2, but the real question is what colors do they like? traditionally, these were often done with red on white, but any colors with enough contrast could work. I have seen good ones done with a totally scrappy look. the 4 corners and the center of the 9 patch need to be the 'colored' ones, as you did in #1. #2 is all confused and will not end up as an Irish Chain.

I like No. 1 but I think the idea of finding out what colors they like is a good one.

I like the 2d one. There's better contrast. And although there's enough contrast for #1, the black (or very dark blue) seems unlike weddings (unless that is a better color combo for the couple - you could ask them which they prefer)

I like the 2nd one the best. The 1st one is nice also.

I love the 1st one the most-but all are very pretty. The black makes the other colors really pop

The second one is my preference, but the first is nice, too. The last combination doesn't have enough contrast for the pattern to show plainly. But Prism is correct: in each photo the nine patch in the third (farthest right) row is made incorrectly, and the pattern is lost. For this pattern to be uninterrupted, the "colors" used need to occupy 5 places in the nine patch: 4 corners and center. In each photo that same nine patch is made with the "colors" in the other 4 positions, and the diagonal pattern is gone.
