I had a teacher tell me one time, I had tightened my screw to tight. Sure enough she loosened it just a bit and was so much better.

Don't you just hate it when the blade keeps skipping a few threads and you don't change the blade? You just keep on trying to use it and keep going over the skipped part. Why don't we just put in a new blade and be done with it?

My cousin bought me a 5-pk from EBay for about $8.00! Never been opened, same as at the store!

Picked up new blades at Paducah. Also have a sharpener that I bought last year at the AQS in Paducah!

Check to be sure you have only one blade in. Sometimes, in taking a new blade from a multiblade pack, you can end up with more than one blade without realizing it. If that is not it, try tightening the screw to be sure the blade is turning all the way.

Has anyone tried the L P Sharp Company.. they are on the web and they will exchange used blades for sharp ones, or new ones. I'm not sure exactly how it works.. 2 for 1 I believe. You can also buy new blades from them. Has anyone tried their service?
Judie, this would be a good post all by itself. I would be very interested in that service.

I get 99% of my blades on ebay. Last bunch was 25 blades for $32 (60mm). That was with shipping. The problem is that when I put a new one in I forget about it. Then when I am struggling to cut, it dawns on me that I need a new one again. With a new one it is like cutting through soft butter with a hot knife!

A rule of thumb in my sewing room.

If I put a new blade in my cutter a pin will appear out of nowhere under the fabric I am cutting or I will drop my open cutter on a hard surface.

At JHittlesewingfunoverload.com site they have 10 blades for 14.95 that will fit most rotatory cutters. They work great for me, they also have specials on a lot of quilting and sewing stuff just thought I would pass info along.Ravonda

Same for me -- trying to squeeze the last bit of goodness out of those blades.
