I want to improve my FMQ. I have a couple tops to do the basting for back and batting and the FMQ. I also want to make some more flannel shirts for my daughter and myself.

I plan on practicing more and finishing my many quilt tops on my Sweet 16 Sit down long arm machine this year. I will have so many donation quilts which in turn will make my year a much better year also. There is no way that we would every use all of the quilts if I can finish them all plus a lot of them will be Chrirstmas presents for next year - LOL!!!

I want to learn ruler work on the SDM. I got the foot and some rulers at the PIQF show and have not used them.
With that skill I hope to finish some more UFOs (or flimsies). I must have 18 or so waiting.

My motto will be: just do it, darn it! I have been overthinking too many things, hemming and hawing and not doing enough of what makes my heart sing. First thing to do, finish organizing the sewing space.

Since the method I have been using to connect my QAG blocks leaves me feeling meh, I am going to try an I dea I have had for years, but did not know if it would work. Imagine my surprise, a couple days ago when I learned here on the board, that my idea was not new, had been used frequently years ago, and had a name. They call it "potholder quilts". I have to finish the QAG one I have in progress, (changing the method right now, would look terrible) but then I will try a potholder quilt. Wish me luck.

I'm going to join the 2017 UFO thread when it starts and hopefully make a big dent in finishing the drawers full of tops that need to be quilted and bound. Otherwise, I'd like to make better use of the specialty rulers I've never used. Maybe a 2017 thread on using specialty rulers?

I may join the 2017 UFO thread as well. I desperately need to complete some outstanding projects.
I also want to learn paper piecing. I love handwork, so I think pp would be relaxing as we travel or watch television.
