I have projects cut and lined up and also UFOs. Because I quilt for a nonprofit, I have to fit my own projects in between work parties. We never know how many tops we will get at the work parties. I have ongoing projects that sit on my sewing table: log cabin blocks with all the logs cut and ready to sew. I have logs cut and if I cannot sleep I go into the studio and sew for a couple hours. By the way, that's my quilt on the front of Raining Cats and Dogs. The author, Janet Kime, asked me to test the pattern. I still have the quilt and it will go to my friend who has 8 dachshunds. My sister and I also made another design from Raining Cats and Dogs. It was cats and woven hearts. Janet's design was included in an anthology of heart quilts. Our quilt was called Hep Cats and had a bright green batik background and jewel tone cats.

Its wonderful to hear from so many creative people that have some many ideas running around their head. I asked the question because I had run into an old sewing friend and we were talking and she said she completely finishes one project before starting another. I thought "How in the world do you do that?" Then I wondered if I was the odd one for starting another project in my head while finishing up the current one. Now I know its not just me And I feel I"m in good company here.

I always have several in my head, plus the ones that I am committed to making, so I do the commitments, and when it's my turn to choose, whichever random one is in rotation in my mind is usually the one I do next. However, sometimes, as I'm pulling fabrics or reading the "Board" a completely new notion will pop in and win the lottery!

Popover, you sound like ME! I have stashes of material (still in the bags they were placed in at purchase!) upstairs, and I thank the good Lord that I had the foresight to put the pattern I want to use with that fabric! I also found a couple of boxes of scrap fabric that were gifted to me by a couple of aunts....ooohh, I can make a couple of small scrappy quilts from those! Now...just to get busy and do it...after I finish my goddaughter's t-shirt quilt and the quilt I want to make for another niece's wedding gift!
