I think I can go both ways. Right now I am preoccupied with wanting to finish 4 projects and can't seem to think beyond them. That can change of course.

I'm always working ahead in my mind. Sometimes when I am trying to fall asleep I think of quilts I'd like to try and combinations of fabric I'd like to use, too. Works for me!

Sounds just like me. I "think" up my best next projects as I am falling asleep at night. Guess my quilts are boring if they put me to sleep.

My mind is always thinking about the next project in line. Plus I occasionally have 2-3 projects going at one time. Right now I'm just trying to finish quilting all my smaller projects so my design wall will be freed up. Still have an unfinished project hanging waiting for me to get back to it. Held off as I couldn't decide how to finish the corners. I asked the recipent and she told me which way she would like to have it so that decided that problem for me. Also have 3 projects al ready cut ready to go sitting in their prospective containers.

I hate to start any new projects right now as I'm getting ready for a big overhaul in the sewing room. I'm changning out my shelving for the fabrics so will need my cutting table to put all the fabrics on while we remove the old shelves and put up the new ones. The old shelves will be used to house my large collection of hardback books that have been sitting in their containers since 2007 when I packed up the house down in Florida. Trying to use what I have instead of getting all new. Think I'll be saving about $100 reusing what I have so that means more for new fabrics......

I always have a few started & a few in bags with pattern & fabric. I don't cut the fabric though in case I change my mind. This year I am going to buy just what I have to have like maybe backing & finish up some things. My problem is I always see something else that I want to make & my others go on the back burner. I'm going to try & not do that anymore. Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Well we will see! lol

I do the same thing!! I find that it takes me longer to finish what I'm working on though, but I have to finish before I start a new one!! Learned that lesson the hard way!

I'm afraid I think about starting a new project more than finishing up the ones I've started. I must have a really short attention span.

I'm always thinking of the next project, especially if I'm working on one that the colors don't have any sparkle. (Not literally, just in my head. haha)

Don't like UFO. Am piecing one at a time while quilting one on the frame and hand binding one while TV watching. By the time am finished quilting the one on the frame the pieced one is ready to go on the frame. Only then do I start another project. No UFO for me. However, I do have a list of project to select from when it time for a new one.

I have over 40 planned or started. I have a spreadsheet of them all somewhere, although I haven't updated it recently (and I've started at least 6 projects since then). There's nothing wrong with planning ahead!
