I have TrueGrips on the back of my main ruler that I use for nearly everything, I use the dots and all the surrounding stuff too. I also have a $10 dollar shower gripper bar on my ruler, it's exactly like the Gypsy Gripper but white and half the price.

I also bought something at JoAnn's that sticks to the back of your ruler, and works very well. I don't remember the name, but the items are small circles, with an adhesive that adheres to the back of the ruler. They are small, so they don't interfere with seeing the measurements on your ruler. Also, they're not expensive. They work very well.

I too use these strips and find they work better then any other product I've found to prevent slipping.

I use light weight vinyl that you find for covering table cloths, Walmart used to sell it. It comes on a roll that's 72" wide.

Thanks for your help. I went back to the same JoAnn's that had never heard of the Invisigrips backing and they had it. I have used the Nexcare tape and it works well. I did not like the way it works on smaller rulers, though.

The rulers that I bought at the quilt shop that work so well are called Creative Grids. I have a large square up ruler by them that works very well and doesn't slip. (I haven't made that log cabin yet, so I haven't used that one.) When I went back for a smaller square up ruler, they didn't have a creative grids in that size.

So now, I have the invisigrip for those rulers that don't have a non-slip back.

I use Invisagrip. I have also used little round sandpaper dots. This do not work well on a boig ruler as they wont slide but do work great on small shapes/template rulers. The sandpaer dots make the ruler stay put so you can get a very accurate cut using a tem-plate ruler

I also use the guidelines4quiling strips, they are the best I have found.
