Well, put it in a will--what to do with your stuff. It is too valuable to throw in a dump. if they don't want to mess with it, at least they should offer it on free cycle or give to a charity or organization that makes quilts for others.

Congrats to you on you terrific find.
Thrift store finds are the best.I go out at least once a monthand come home with pieced quilt tops in the bags. Keep searching the stores we all get lucky once in a while.

That is so sad! Folks donate and they throw it away. I believe I would write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper letting folks know not to take there stuff for donation to that Goodwill because they throw it away. I also would contact the head of Goodwill in that state and report what they are doing.

My daughter and I went to a thrift store and there were three 'bags' there. I picked up two and she said go ahead and get the third. Glad I did. LOL It had the best 'stuff' in it. Don't you just love things like that?

I agree! Put it in a will. Thats what I have. Its all going to folks I know that sew, quilt, embroider, serge, etc. Quilt guilds are a good source to donate it all to. I've already donated a few sewing machines I had stored in a shed to one of the local quilt guilds. I upgraded my machines so gave it to them to have for use when they meet for folks to use.

Wow! What a find! "One man's trash is another man's treasure!" I go often to thrift stores too. I once bought cover for a baby bassinet that had rows & rows of fabric & lace. Bought a ruffled tiered skirt of valentine theme for $1, yds of fabric. I look for sheets & pillowcases too...
