I made 5 queen size quilts, which was okay but I found myself getting really bored with them before getting them completly finished. Now I just make lap quilts but they are always in many different sizes. Nothing standard. I find that everyone will use a lap quilt at one time or another but not always use a bed quilt because it don't match the decor or whatever reason they can come up with. Lap quilts are faster to make and I don't get bored before it's finished either. And I can make them any size, color, or design I want. And they work up so fast, you always have one or more on hand if you need a gift in a hurry. I really want to get into doing table runners, but haven't gotten there yet.
I just love fabric. Any kind of cotton, I just have to have..........haha

Wheee!! I finished the winter clothing for my niece. Now I can play with my quilting and make a skirt to go with my new purple leather jacket. I am sewing for the holidays, but not quilted things this year.

I finished most of the gifts that were quilted last month and they are with thier new owners. :D I found I get too nervous being under the gun during the holiday's.

I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else is making though. This board is so full of talent!

As for the quilting I am making placemats for three and PJs for the rest of the bunch. PJs aren't quilting but I have 5 Grandsons and after they get grown it is hard to buy for them.. I have made them quilts but now being a caregiver takes most of my time. Sooo they all love those PJs and they are so easy to make. At walmart there is plenty of the $2.00 a yd. material. I have to make it easy on me this year.

Well you certainly have some great ideas and you're all very busy! Where do you find the time?

I was thinking of placemats-potholders-coasters. I also saw this pattern in Clotilde that looks interesting.

Do you sleep? Eat? How do you get this all done? Did you start last Christmas? That's amazing!

Table runners are a good gift, purses too. Makeup bags, pot holders, stuff like that I make all the time and everyone loves them.

Potato bags are quilted bags that you put potatoes or corn on the cob or tortillas in and cook them in the microwave. If you google potato bag you will be able to see directions for making them and using them.

Not planning on making many sewing/quilting gifts this Christmas, everyone already has a least one quilt, seasonal table runners, etc. I do plan to make a Christmas table runner for DIL's sister who invitied DH and I to her new home for Thanksgiving Dinner. Need to check out my Christmas/Winter fabric stash for suitable fabrics, pretty sure there will be slim pickings there so I'll be making a quilt shop or Joann's run instead. May in Jeresy
