I've bought a lot of fabric from ebay, but usually named fabric, Moda, Kaffe Fassett and Liberty mostly. Twice I bought unamed charm squares because they were in a colour I needed but some of them were so thin you could see right through them and I ended up using them in a scrappy quilt.
As most people on here have said, read the sellers feedback (I only buy from sellers with 100% feedback) and also the item description carefully before buying.

I have bought fabric from ebay and have been very pleased. I always pay attention to the feedback though... some people aren't as honest as you expect them to be.

I live out in the boonies, at least 40 miles one way to nearest fabric tore... So, I've bought a good bit from ebay that is quilt related. I have purchased over 100 times and have only been dissatisfied twice. Once I ordered 2" red strips, and I got BRICK strips which couldn't be used with what I wanted. The second disappointing time, I ordered 5" charm squares and at least 1/2 of the squares were very thin, cheap fabric. I've learned my lesson, at least on the quality part. I have purchased LOTS of magazines and books; never been disappointed.

I buy a lot from Ebay as well and have been very happy doing so for years. I also pay attention to the Seller's Feedback before I buy from them.

I have bought fabric on ebay and had good luck. I stick with brands I know, Moda, etc. Always received what I expected.

I've gotten quite a bit of fabric from eBay. The yardage was of good weight for the most part. Once when I ordered a fabric out of Canada, assuming that it was probably a little darker than the pic showed, it came looking EXACTLY like the pic! Had to find the right color elsewhere.
I have also ordered precut squares, but won't again unless they are name brand packets. You never know what thin wimpy ugly shoddy gingham or something they might stick in there!
And pay good mind to the shipping charges, they can be ridiculous!!

It's very sad to see new people to Ebay buy one thing and then go off the deep end over their purchase. HAVE FUN SHOPPING :):) You can shop in you jammies..... what could be funner that?
Not to mention, the fun of the bidding.

I have bought (fabric and other items) and sold (not fabric) and have been satisfied on both ends.

Ebay knows me well, i buy a lot lately from there, you just have to be careful, you have to read what they are saying and read between the lines, plus I buy online more than local

I buy tons of fabric off ebay, I know what your saying about touching the fabric, I have an obsession with Moda fabric but I have never had a problem with any buys off ebay.
