You can still go on Joann.com to get all those other things, as well as fabrics.

Sorry you are losing your store. I heard that they had been sold and hope they don't close ours. Come to think of it, I have a gift card from Christmas that I better use before they close and I lose out on it.

With the high cost of gas its becoming cheaper to order fabric/merchandise instead of driving to stores.
www.ericas.com has quilt shop quality fabric.
I've also ordered embroidery bobbin thread, 100% cotton for my Bernina.

Gee I stopped at Erica's today. Guess you don't appreciate it as much when you are so close.

I know I can order online, and I probably will have to after it closes. But if I need a spool of thread to finish a project, I want to just go buy a single spool of thread. Not go online and pay twice as much because of shipping and have to wait a week before it gets here, not to mention I usually end up ordering more to justify the shipping cost. I'm in town 3 days a week at least, so it's not extra for me to drive to Joann's right now and I always have an hour or two to kill while I wait for my kids to do their activities there. Sadly enough, there isn't much left to do in town to kill time. Walmart, a pet store, a home depot, and that's about it (aside from the joann's and the grocery stores).

I went to Joann's today and the clerk gave me a paper with a phone number on it to call. I'll start calling tomorrow.

I am so sorry to hear this, Joanne's is a local store that I buy a lot at. I also spend time at Beverly's and here they give Joanne's a run for their money with lots of competitive sales and pricing. I end up spending about the same at both stores.

I bought from Beverly's online once. They sent me the wrong pins so I called and they promptly sent out the right ones and let me keep the other ones. Excellent service-I'd definitely buy from them again.

Our TV news station said that Walmart has made a public announcement saying they're adding back the fabric line in the stores. So there's hope!!!!

there are some great online resources for these:
Schmetz needles: I buy them in boxes of 100 for a little over $20... I do a lot of embroidery as well as quilting, so that makes it very acceptable for me to change my needles often...
Gutermann: I have seen some great sales thru atlantathread.com on Gut!
Omni: lots of online retailers, fabric.com has sales on tools often... many others too.

I am sorry if you lose yours, but there are other ways to still get your goodies. If they do close, I hope you get some great sale prices on stock-up items :)
