VaQuiltGal don't know if it is on your route but Fabric Shack is awesome. Also lots of quilt shops in Cincinnati area. I am so jealous of everyone going. This is on my bucket list. Someday.

Yes, we are going to Fabric Shack. Went there 2 years ago. Lovely shop with great selection of fabrics. We are going to 8 shops in the Mennonite area and then 5 in Columbus and surrounding area including Fabric Shack.

Be sure to go to Eleanor Burns shops at all locations. She has 4 (I think) different places in town. Sales of different colors each day.

Also the AQS hurt book sale downtown.

The $5 book sale has always been downtown a couple of blocks from the museum. I think in a building called Finkel Building. Vendors are there too. Just about every empty building is rented for vendors in the downtown area. Also the mall is full of quilt vendors too. I found the prices are better at the vendors not in the quilt show merchant's area. Quilt Show and Merchant's Mall, Quilt Museum, Eleanor Burns, Hancock's of Paducah, Mall Vendors, Downtown shops and vendors, Special Exhibit Hall, Paper Pieces Shop, plus a walk in the downtown for area for all the shops, at least three days to take it all in and enjoy it.

My DH goes with my DD and myself. My DD lives in Paducah and the first year, he stayed at her house and could not even figure out how to use her remote control for the TV - so was bored for the day - in town - we are farmers and there is always something to do on a farm - not so much in the city. Anyway, from then on, he went with us and said he actually liked it. He was able to "People Watch" - well actually - "Women Watch" - but he did seek out the husbands to talk to. DH is a very friendly guy. I have told this story on here before - but here goes again:

I asked DH what he thought that the average age of the quilters was and he said "70" and they are all from Iowa. Yes, most of the ladies had on name tags, from their bus trip, etc. and it had their names and states on it - but I did not remember seeing very many from Iowa. So, I said "Iowa?????" - he said - Yes, they are all corn fed - LOL

You see, we raise cattle and corn fed means that they were "plump". So, he thought that the average quilter was age 70 and plump. LOL

but, last year, he said that the average age was much younger as we saw many women with tattoos, body piercings, fuchsia hair, pink hair, chartreuse hair, etc.

Looking forward to spending the day there and what fun stuff they will have. I love Paducah.

Oh and be sure to go downtown, great food and lots to do there as well.
