Five members from our guild went for two days with a local bus tour company. Some members thought it was a bit pricey, but I found it well worth the $232. Our rooms were in Sikeston, a very pleasant ride from Paducah. We toured the museum, the Rotary, and spent most of the second day at the show. Our tour guide and bus even took three of us back to the Rotary and Hancocks of Paducah on the second day.

I found such a hugh selection of stencils for hand quilting at the Stencil Company booth at the Rotary and I purchased so many stencils and marking pencils. Of course, I found beautiful coordinated FQs. I think I could have spendt hours in the the back room at Hancocks of Paducah.

Next year the tour guide mentioned perhaps a three-day trip so we could spend an entire day in town at the antique and fabric shops. I have already started a fund for spending money for that trip. When their flyer comes out in December, I plan to sign up. It was well worth the fare to not have to drive or worry about finding a room. It was much more enjoyable and far less tiring.

I went to Paducah and did a whirlwind tour of the show in one day. Daughter is going to college in Carbondale, IL (a little over an hour away). Went to the show on Friday and spent the weekend visiting my daughter.

Planning on going again next year but will plan on spending more time in Paducah.

Has anyone been going to the show for years? I went to Paducah about 10 years ago (when there was only the one show and not 4 around the country). Do you think there are a lot less quilts in the show than previously (at least in the bed size)? Or am I not remembering correctly? Still a great show with tons of vendors but I was just wondering....

This was my 6th year...I missed last year due to the flooding. I feel this was the very best show ever! I stayed 3 days and took two classes which were phenomenal!!!! Both classes were with Diane Hire.....and both were about impromptu design....so much fun!!!!! I have come home and spent loads of time playing with a very crazy art quilt as a result of the classes. They were all day classes with a 1 1/2 hour lunch.
If anyone gets a chance do go to the quilt show.....and take a class or two.
I bought wonderful hand dyed fabrics for my art quilts. Otherwise, I just browsed and enjoyed.
If I had any complaint it is that in the convention center there aren't many places to sit down. It would be nice to be able to sit and rest a bit now and then. But otherwise I give this year's show an A.

OH I would so love to go to the Paducah show. I think it is about a 5 hour drive from here. I am hoping to go maybe next year. It is on my Bucket list.

This trip is on my "must do" list. One more year of teaching school, then I can plan a trip to hang out with my dgd in Southern Il that coincides with the quilt show. I can hardly wait!
