50% off at LQS, you don't need to be talked out of it. You should go go go.

She's so right! Also, set yourself a $ limit. Think of specific projects and buy for them.

Depends. I have been thinking about fabric costs. I decided that if I did a "quilt trip", I would spend X amount. Gas, motel, meals, admittance fees (if any) & quilt items purchased on the trip.

Thus, I can spend the same X locally on fabric I LOVE, but am too cheap/frugal to buy at reg prices.

If you are overwhelmed by your stash, or have made a stop spending decision, don't go.

If you have X to spend, take it in cash (no checks or plastic) & GO.

Another thought, you could buy only "support" fabric- blenders, solids, backings. Things that we sometimes have to go buy to fill in our stash plannings.

Sorry, we have a LQS that is closing and she's starting her liquidation sale. I'm having trouble dealing with myself so afraid I can't help you. As expensive as everyone says fabric is up there, I really, honestly do think you should go and check it out!!!

I do have to get 16 yards of fabric for the Glacier Star pattern.... that may be a good time to get it. I'll have to talk to my mom and see if she wants to come with me.

Considering how expensive fabric is in Canada, or least what we hear on this Board, I would think that this would be an excellent opportunity to stock up at a more reasonable price. If you're worried about your budget, why not figure out what you can afford and bring that amount in cash. If anything, have fun!!

Our local LQS just had a 50% off Batting, at a normal $28.00 a metre, I bought a whole bolt! I say, don't pass up the opportunity, think long term!

I was thinking the same thing...this board is a bunch of fabricaholics...

You need to read at www.getrichslowly.com or some other board about being thrifty, not here!

But fabric is such good therapy!!! :)
