They want to throw it back in the owner's faces that their gift is not good enough? How would they feel if someone did that with a quilt they had gifted?

I appreciate this board and all that the "powers that be do". I'll learn to deal with the changes, whether I like them or not, simply because this is where I meet up with like minded friends.

My reaction would be, "Put your big girl panties on and deal with it!"
Well said, Charlee!

I read a few of the negative remarks thread .... in some cases they are complaining that things are missing when all they have to do is ask where to find them .... the info is still here. It really is not the look of the page that makes this board like family ... it's the people and we are still here. I too have been on other boards and they are no where near as friendly and chatty as here. While I understand that the new look may be hard for some people to figure out .... just ask ... someone will help you find it.

I'm trying to figure everything out - not giving up, that's for sure. The positive comments help keep me pushing forward - even though I'm not very computer literate. I'm one that feels very comfortable when I am able to use the computer to do the same tasks regularly - but throw something new in the mix and my confidence level drops to nearly zero. Perhaps that's what others are feeling. Hope they keep working with the new site configuration. I do think a cheat sheet would be great!

I love the new look! I WILL learn to navigate just as I did when I first joined. Where are the "most talked about" pictures? I haven't found them yet.

One of the things I really like about this new set up is the ability to organize my bookmarks into folder. That will really come in handy when I want to look for a quilt pattern or a tutorial.

However, one glitch that I hope someone can help me with is the quilt album. When I went there to look at quilts, all I got was list of the various sections. No pictures came up. Any ideas?

[QUOTE=Sheila_H;4617662]I agree - I posted a note to the moderator's last night offering to help people get adjusted to the new board, kind of like a cheat sheet of where things are on the new board. I think that for some it's a huge change versus a small change to others - for people that are not computer savvy I think it created a feeling of being lost and confused.

YES! I looked at the unhappies and at the "give it a chance" and wanted to suggest a "How To" page for all of us who aren't very computer savy to begin with. But I lost (I know I saw it) where you go to start a new thread. PLEASE, can we have a posting of questions and answers. Here are a couple to start with....

How to start a new post. Why couldn't I copy the quilts in the contest (the final "g" was left off the file name, why?)?

I know we'll settle in and have the warm fuzzy and informative postings again. But a "cheat sheet" to help us who are
a wee bit slower would be great.

I have also found some things I like the callender is one. You can design your profile page, everything on it you can change. Even though you don't have a PM notice you can click on notifications at the top and check if you have them there.
Chat room not as nice as it was but keep in mind that it is expensive to run a big forum and maybe there needed to be some savings somewhere in order for the forum to continue. Now, there is a choice!! No forum or..................this...I myself like all the lovely ladies here and would hate to leave. I admit it was a shock as I didn't know it was coming. Life gets in the way sometimes of my getting on here. But it is what it is. We should be thankful we have somewhere to chat, share, and be a family.
OOOOHHH I just found the smilies that worked for the posting....guess where they are.... I feel a bit dumb....
Everyone have a nice and blessed day...

I agree that this may take a little getting used to, but I have looked at other boards as well, and this is by far the best! We just got a little spoiled because we knew where most evrything was and how to do it! Everything changes but we always find a way to get thru! My grandma will be 100 in January, think of all of the changes that she has gone thru! We can do this!!!

Nancy, part of the problem is that I can't find "Important Announcement" and if I did, I don't think my hoping for a question/answer thread has anything to do with announcements. I, and I suspect many others, need is a place to go to get answers that are probably already there for me to read. I'm really trying to do things right. I'm just a slow computer learner.

The "Important Announcement" thread is at the top of the Main page as a sticky. It's the original thread announcing the software switch. It's marked with lots of ***'s in the title. To get to the last post you read in that or any other thread, just click on the small double down arrow icon (blue circle) in the left corner of the thread name (between the envelope and the title).

As for all the questioning threads being deleted as someone claimed, that's not true. The question threads that pop up are being merged (moved, blended, added) into the "Important Announcement" thread so that they are all in one place...easier for all concerned.

There have been so many changes already as a direct reaction to the voices of our members, I think the programmers are doing a fantastic job of trying to make us happy. Let's meet them halfway, shall we?
