What really inspired me to get my fabric organized was purchasing the fabric boards. It really helps. I also purchased two shoe cabinet/storage units w/25 slots in each. I rolled up the smaller pieces of fabric for those slots, and have them sorted by colors. A little bit of time each day....my girlfriend used to tell me "You can only eat an elephant one bite at a time!" LOL

would gladly help you but I live too far away . . .

If I was closer, I'd be there in a flash. :)

That's all you've got to fold??? I have several times that much in boxes, stacks, drawers (about 300 yards).

I did this several years ago and folded mine with my ruler. Put on shelves into my 48x72" cabinet with doors. Looks very neat and easy to choose fabrics. I had the stacks in my dinig room and didn't like the look, so I just kept at it until I was done. It took me all week after work and finished it up on the weekend. When I buy more, I wash and dry, fold and stack with the others. I have mostly 4yd pieces or larger. Smaller pieces are easier and faster.

If I just lived closer, in the same country even! Sorry, I truly wish that I could help you with that! Honestly I offered to go help my mother in law, however we don't live close either!

Number 1. I live too far away; Number 2. I have enough of my own to organize; and Number 3. I really hate to organize, I'd rather do something with the fabric like sew.
But that being said, I'd love to come and sit with you and talk about what you could do with all the fabric and ooh and aah over it! |
