I agree, you don't need to buy one, just use your smallest quilt ruler and use that 1/4" measurment. No need to spend your money on thta....save it for material

[quote=MTS]It's for a paper piecing class, right?
Here's a picture: http://www.buy.com/prod/add-a-quarte...217369647.html It also comes in a 6 inch length, which might be easier to deal with depending on the blocks you're making. It's a fabulous little notion to have, and I use it ALL the time when I'm paper piecing. [quote] I have this one in the link. I bought it at my LQS but I sure didn't pay that much for it. I use it all the time to check my 1/4 inch seams on blocks of all types. It's wonderful if you are paper piecing but it's even better for double checking or marking seams on Y seams, too. It was worth the investment I made of about $5.95. |
I have one and would not be without it for paper-piecing. I think a larger size would be better for large projects but mine is only a 6" used strictly for piecing.

Yes, I have one and wouldn't be without it for paper foundation blocks. Love it. Mine is 6" long and that has been great for what I have done. I do know there is one that is 12" and suppose if you are doing large blocks it might be good to have.

These rulers are wonderful for paper piecing. I took a Carol Doak class a few years ago and learned the technique there - it is pretty simple and makes a world of difference. Have fun at your class!
